Routines

This week’s suggestion is something that could be a tiny change – or a really big one.

It’s about breaking your usual routine.

That could mean cleaning your teeth with your brush in the other hand.

It could mean taking a different route to work.

Have something different for dinner.

You could change your routine entirely, getting up at a different time and running your day completely differently.

They say a change is as good as a rest – so why not make a small change to your routine and see if it improves your mood a little?

It’s really easy to get stuck in a rut of routine where we do the same thing every day, every week, every month.

There is a fine line between a routine and a rut, after all.

Changing things up a little can’t hurt – in fact it can make a big difference.

You might find a different route to work is more colourful or has a brilliant coffee shop along the way.

Try to look at things differently…

Getting up at a different time might mean you see different people on your morning walk, or that you have more time for other things before work.

It can be quite fun to approach your day with the idea that you’ll break every routine you come across – see how many small changes you can make!
