December and January are both great months for reflecting on the previous year. It seems as though all the madness seems to calm down and everyone takes a little time for himself or herself and to really analyse what has happened in the last 12 months. At this time of year I always try to make the most of the time that I have to myself and reflect on my achievements and shortcomings of the previous year and how I can look to improve in the coming year.
This year was no different and over the Christmas break I took time to reflect on 2014 and think about my goals and targets for 2015. I always set a goal for myself for the end of the following year but I prefer to set smaller benchmarks every few months or so, that way the goal never seems so much more attainable.
Consider the highs and lows of 2014 and the causes behind these and then try to put an action plan in place to maintain the highs and limit the lows. Was there anything you did particularly well during 2014 that you wish to further improve on or maintain? Are there areas of your business or work life that are somewhat slacking and that you want to improve in 2015? No matter how small or big your goals may be, set out with the intention that in 2015 you will make positive changes to your work and revisit these goals on a regular basis to see the progress that you are making.
I hope that you have all had a lovely Christmas and New Year and that 2015 brings amazing things for you. Looking forward to catching up with you all soon. Keep smiling.
