Shooting Beauty is a business consultancy for fashion creatives. Every month we host tutorial events for our members on various topics. Networking is a very hot topic and something that our consultants gets a lot of questions about. We met John through a business partner and thought he would fit the event perfectly. And it turned out we were right. Johns personality made all our members feel confident which resulted in a very interactive session.
The first part of the session was focused on “How to sell yourself”, which our members took a lot from. John explained how important it is as a freelancer to use your personality and how this can help you generate more business. “People are investing in you so make sure they get something back”, he emphasised this point throughout his talk, outlining that your personality is just as important as providing a good service, which was an eye opener to a lot of our freelancers.
The session started off with some simple but fun activities followed by some great advice. The attendees got to ask a lot of questions throughout the session which in some cases turned into bigger discussions.
With an unexpected accident happening in the morning making our other guest speaker unable to attend the event, John was quick to pick up on the topic “networking”. The tips given by him proved extremely effective, by the end of the event the whole room was up on their feet swapping business cards and interacting. A big think you to John for saving the last part of our event and pulling off a great gig. Next time we need a networking pro we know exactly who to turn to.
