I don’t know about you, but I can sometimes find these winter months hard going.
With the dark mornings and dark evenings, it can feel like we go days without seeing the sun – and that can really affect our mood.
This week’s Mental Sunshine is about something that really helped me to enjoy my Christmas Break.
I had a vitamin IV in December after a friend recommended it.
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but actually it was brilliant!
Afterwards I felt full of energy – and I’m still feeling the benefits now.
I had the “Wellness Special Drip Therapy” multivitamin IV. Boosted with a vitamin B12 injection
It certainly helped me to feel a lot less tired. Especially at night time, whereas before I would suddenly “hit the wall” at around 10pm
The thing about vitamin IV therapy is that the vitamins go directly into your bloodstream – where if you eat your vitamins in food or supplements, they have to be absorbed by the gut.
Even someone with a super healthy gut will struggle to absorb all of the vitamins in a vegetable or a vitamin tablet.
With an IV, you get 100% of it, with no bioavailability issues.
And really, who remembers to take a vitamin tablet every day – or manages to eat the recommended amounts of foods required to get the vitamins we need each day?
IV vitamins start working really quickly too – I felt the effects almost immediately.
They’re not necessarily cheap – but for me, I think the extra energy and general good feeling I’ve had for the last few weeks is worth the investment.
I’m not suggesting you start having IV vitamin drips on a monthly basis.
But if you’re struggling to drag yourself through a grey, cold January – this is definitely something that could help.
Have you ever had IV vitamin therapy?
