Binaural Beats

This week’s Mental Sunshine is all about listening to music – but I don’t mean your favourite band at all!

In fact, the kind of music I’m going to suggest you listen to has no words… and probably won’t have a tune you can hum along to either.

Have you heard of binaural beats before?

Binaural beats are a phenomenon that happens when a different tone is played in each ear, causing our brains to perceive a third tone.

That sounds a bit spacey, doesn’t it?

So why am I telling you to listen to this kind of music?

Well, the short answer is: I believe it will bring you more mental sunshine!

People say that listening to binaural beats can have a range of effects on the listener, including reducing stress and anxiety, increasing focus and helping with sleep.

The music just sounds like background music – you can almost forget you’re listening to it.

But you can also find that you are able to focus on a task for much longer.

Or that it helps you to relax and quiet that anxious voice in your head.

Or maybe even get a better night’s sleep.
