Mental Health

How are you feeling today?

I mean really – how are you feeling?

We’ve all been through a fairly stressful time over the last couple of years, and that has meant for many of us that our mental health has not been as good as it can be.

This Sunday (October 10th) is World Mental Health Day, and that’s a perfect opportunity to check in with the people around you. And with yourself!

Last week I was sent this lovely infographic from Action for Happiness

Clearly, they know me well because it’s exactly my kind of thing!

These are suggestions for each day in the month, for ways to feel a bit happier and perhaps to connect more with the world around us.

And as there is still plenty of the month to go, it’s not too late to start…

Optimistic October

Mental health is not just about not having a diagnosable condition such as depression, in the same way that being physically healthy is not just about not having the flu!

Just as we eat fruits and vegetables and exercise for our physical health, we need to take action every day to protect our mental health.

These tips from Action for Happiness are a great place to start – and this is what my weekly emails are all about too

We all need to take action to protect our mental health – and it’s about taking small steps each day, rather than doing one big thing once a week or month.

Only you know what’s best for you; all I can do is offer you some suggestions and ideas to help you along the way.

Hopefully, together we can all improve our mental health and our overall well being by taking those small steps together.

If you are new to my weekly doses of mental sunshine you may like to pop over and join my a photo a day for wellness group.

The idea is to take and post a new photo every day that reflects what you see in the world and share with others to help brighten their day too.
