Eddie Jordan by John Cassidy The Headshot Guy LondonI’ve met and photographed Eddie Jordan on a number of occasions both for the Times and whilst doing some charity photography for CLIC Sargent. I always found him a very likeable character with a great sense of humour and always open to ideas for images. As with most newspaper shoots time was always limited but from previous experience of photographing EJ I knew he had few facial expressions up his sleeve that I could quickly call on. I also knew I could ask him to do something different, so when I suggested he posed bare chested peering through the curtains, it was no problem. One of the most important characteristics of a people photographer is quickly building connection and rapport. And using your powers of persuasion to get the shot which certainly helped with this shoot…

He was the founder and owner of Jordan Grand Prix, a Formula One constructor which operated from 1991 to 2005 where he was responsible for finding and nurturing many young Grand Prix drivers including world champions Damon Hill, Nigel Mansell, Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna, while Jean Alesi, Rubens Barichello, Thierry Boutsen, Giancarlo Fisichella, Heinz-Harald Frentzen, Johnny Herbert, Eddie Irvine, Roberto Moreno, Ralf Schumacher, Jarno Trulli and John Watson also drove in Jordan cars. He is currently the lead analyst for F1 coverage on the BBC.
