Acts of Mental Sunshine

A lot of the Mental Sunshine emails I send involve doing something for someone else

Because actually, the act of bringing Mental Sunshine into someone else’s day helps to improve your mood too

When we see or feel that we have had a positive impact on someone else’s day, it makes us feel good.

With that in mind, this week’s suggestion is to send a card to someone.

It doesn’t need to be their birthday or anything like that.

You don’t need a special occasion to brighten someone’s day!

Do you remember that Royal Mail ad from the ‘90s: I saw this and thought of you

I love the idea of just popping a little card in the post to let someone know you’ve thought of them.

You could use this as an opportunity to let them know you appreciate their friendship,

Or that you have seen they’re going through a rough patch and you’re here if they want to reach out…

Or you could simply write I saw this and thought of you!

These days most things are done online, so I find that where the post used to be mainly bills, these days the postie doesn’t even need to come to our door every day!

Imagine the feeling that person will get when they realise the postie has been – and it’s not even a pizza menu or a local estate agent wanting to buy their home!

Imagining how the other person will feel will bring Mental Sunshine into your day as much as theirs!

Go on, send a card today and brighten up two people’s days!
